The iPhone 7 survives two days of 30-foot submersion, spotted and returned by a British diver

Through the magic of waterproof cases, an iPhone 7 lost to the sea during his vacation not only received a text alerting a diver on its location, but retaining an autonomy of 84% through the test.

A diver this week was stunned to make a discovery off the coast of Dorset, England – a lost iPhone that's been lit when a text is pbaded.

After The Daily Mirror, and other reports, diver Cerys Hearsey noticed something that lit up on the seabed about 30 feet from the sea. # 39; water. It was an iPhone, in a waterproof case receiving a text message.

Returning to the surface with his find, Hearsey scrolled through the contacts. The owner lives in Canada, but lost the phone during a kayak expedition.

The owner's cousin was determined to be Rob Smith, a resident of the United Kingdom. Hearsey has returned to Smith, and the iPhone is being returned to the owner by international mail.

The cousin, who thought the phone was definitely lost after the two-day dunk, recovers it, but as a bonus has been part of an international story.

AppleInsider suggests that the case maker contact Smith, as it appears that the next advertising text for the case is already written.

Apple allegedly worked to make iPhones and other devices themselves waterproof, with a patent approved last month for "Sealed Accessories for Electronics."
