Rick's decision will continue to be controversial. being spared, namely Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Hilltop, and Daryl (Norman Reedus), Rick's right-hand man, whose close relationship with Rick will be harder than usual this season.
"You will certainly disagree with us [over Negan]" Cohan told Comic-Con.
"The future looks different from everyone, and we come to explore that. [Maggie’s] The child has no father and the responsible person is always there. Summed up to that, what are you doing? It's the reason for being this season. "

"He likes to talk, so it's important that people come to visit him," Morgan said. "As an actor, it's been good, but as a character I could be looking forward to getting out of there."
"We are starting to see Negan's sides that we have never seen before," adds season 9 showrunner Angela Kang. "I mean, Jeffrey is amazing, you know, Negan is Negan and Negan sometimes like to cause problems, so we're going to play with these stories."
