In the final presentation of Warner Bros's Hall H Saturday event, Jason Momoa took the stage with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and director James Wan.

Wan started. "One of the most important things I wanted to do was create a superhero movie that we had never seen before," he said. "Our film is a little different and unique, more like a sci-fi movie than a traditional superhero movie."

They showed a trailer (see above) and some images that show an intriguing underwater world between Aquaman and his brother (Patrick Wilson) to rule the kingdom. What we saw was heavy VFX, a departure for Wan.

The cast told amusing stories about being rubbed in harnesses, and preparing to deal with the unavoidable moisture guaranteed when you sign up for a film

Mateen II, more important that learning his lines, he thought, would learn to swim, which he did not know how to do despite his appearance in Baywatch . "In fact, I secretly taught myself to swim, buy glbades and a board and do it every morning in the hotel pool," he said. "And I never had to swim."

Kidman, who plays the underwater queen and mother of Aquaman, had a different experience. "My opening scene, I had to lie down on a rock, with mbadive waves crushing on me," said the Oscar-winning actress during her first appearance at Hall H Comic-Con. "I told James, the bigger the better, give it to me, that's why I'm doing this movie."

Wan said the water was so hard that she was "like being bombarded with stones."

Wilson resumes with Wan after their genre experience in Insidious and was not surprised that he took to VFX as a fish to the water. "I knew again about the little genre film that his skills would translate and hoped that he would take me with him," Wilson said.

The images looked a lot like something in a Luc Besson movie, but had a mix of VFX and clever humor that often missed in DC movies.

Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison and Dolph Lundgren are also featured. Will Beall wrote the storyline of a story by Geoff Johns and Wan. Peter Safran produced Aquaman based on 77-year-old DC Comics hero, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Johns as executive producers.

Justice League Aquaman last year throws his reply in theaters on December 21.
