Woolsey Fire destroys Caitlyn Jenner’s home

UPDATED: The Woolsey Fire that is raging in numerous Los Angeles-area communities and roared into the exclusive beachside town of Malibu Friday has destroyed the hilltop home of Caitlyn Jenner, hit Kim Kardashian’s property and forced stars like Lady Gaga to flee, TMZ is reporting and other outlets are reported.

Jenner’s home, which she opened to viewers of her reality TV show and which boasted Malibu beach views, burned down on Friday morning, just as the Woolsey Fire, which also forced evacuations in Hidden Hills and Calabasas, shifted towards Malibu, TMZ said.

Variety reports that other celebrities who have left their homes include Jenner’s former stepdaughter, Kardashian, who lives in Hidden Hills with her husband Kanye West, and Kourtney Kardashian, of Calabasas.

Kim Kardashian tweeted Friday afternoon that flames had hit her property, but she said they “are more contained and have stopped at the moment.” She added: “It doesn’t seems like it is getting worse right now, I just pray the winds are in our favor.”

All of Malibu was ordered to evacuate Friday as the Woolsey Fire had grown to 14,000 acres, Variety added.

Malibu residents who are known to have fled their homes include Lady Gaga, Rainn Wilson and Melissa Etheridge, Variety reported. Lady Gaga posted on her Instagram Story that her Malibu estate was evacuated early Friday.

Other Hollywood figures with homes in Malibu include Ellen Pompeo, Cindy Crawford and producer Marcy Carsey. “Star Wars” star Mark Hamill tweeted that flames had come dangerously close to his home:

Kim Kardashian was forced to grab as much as she could in an hour and flee her home Thursday night because of the out-of-control Woolsey Fire threatening her neighborhood in suburban Los Angeles.

In a video the reality TV star posted on Instagram Story, she revealed that she had just arrived back at the Hidden Hills compound she shares with husband Kanye West to find that she needed to evacuate due to the Woolsey Fire, People reported.

“Just landed back home and had 1 hour to pack up & evacuate our home. I pray everyone is safe,” the 38-year-old “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star wrote.

It looks like she won’t be the only celebrity fleeing the path of the Woolsey Fire, which destroyed numerous homes in its path overnight, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Associated Press reported Friday that the entire city of Malibu was ordered evacuated after the fire, which broke out Thursday afternoon in the Simi Valley, jumped Interstate 101 and was roaring towards the beachside community.

A number of Hollywood celebrities live in Malibu, a town of about 13,000 residents. Malibu is home to Barbra Streisand, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, among others. There was no word on whether they had evacuated.

But the Los Angeles County Fire Department tweeted this warning: “Imminent threat!”

In a video shot from her private plane, flying over the flames near her home, and from her car, Kardashian said, “They’re evacuating everyone right now from all of our homes.”

The City of Calabasas, near Hidden Hills, also issued a voluntary evacuation order for neighborhoods south of Interstate 101. Kim Kardashian’s sister, Kourtney, lives in Calabasas and chose to evacuate.

Kourtney Kardashian shared a photo on Instagram Story of her car trunk loaded with packed suitcases.

“I pray that everyone is kept safe and protected from these fires. No Calabasas tonight,” Kourtney Kardashian captioned her photo.

By early Friday morning, the fire had grown to up to 8,000 acres with  zero containment, and multiple fire agencies responded to help battle the blaze, ABC7.com reported. At least 30,000 people were forced to evacuate.

A second fire, dubbed the Hill Fire, was burning in Ventura County in the Newbury Park area near Thousand Oaks, just miles from the scene of a deadly mbad shooting that claimed 12 lives Wednesday night.

This blaze also broke out Thursday afternoon. It had grown to between 8,000 and 10,000 acres, closed Interstate 101 and was threatening homes and forcing evacuations, KCAL.com reported.
