In the future, the health ministry said, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be administered in Israel.
People aged 18 and over who have not yet been vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine will now receive two injections of Moderna 28 days apart. People over 18 who have already received one or two doses of Pfizer vaccine should also receive their next dose of Pfizer, with the injections given 21 days apart.
Anyone who received a first dose of Moderna, including people who may have received such a dose abroad, will receive a second dose of this vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine is only approved for people over 18, which means any 12 to 17-year-old who wants to receive the vaccine will still need Pfizer.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said last week that he has reached a deal with Pfizer to ensure that Israel does not run out of doses at any time and that orders will be delivered sooner than expected, so that anyone who wants to do so. vaccinate can get one.
