A recent study by Zion Medical revealed that a new anti-HIV drug called Gammora can eliminate up to 99% of infected cells in humans.

"The drug triggers the self-destruction of the infected cell called apoptosis. It has the potential to cure HIV-infected patients by destroying all cells that carry the HIV genome, "said Dr. Esmira Naftali.

Patients received Gammora with lopinavir or ritonavir. The combination destroyed 99% of the virus in just four weeks without any unwanted side effects.

"We are excited to prove the efficacy of our Phase 2b drug with more participants over a longer period of time," said Dr. Naftali.
