(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, JULY 7 – Thousands of people have
manifested today along a major artery of Chicago,
block it, ask for more restrictive laws against weapons
firearms, which last year caused about 600 deaths in
city. The protest was led by Reverend Michael Pfleger,
the charismatic Catholic priest who runs a large church
African-Americans in one of the suburbs most affected by violence
criminal gangs. The mayor also supported the initiative
Rahm Emanuel and the local police chief.
