Historic meeting between Ethiopia and Eritrea – World leaders

(ANSA) – ADDIS ABABA, JULY 8 – The leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea,
Abiy Ahmed and Isaias Afwerki met today
first time in almost 20 years.
The historic meeting took place at Asmara Airport, where
Eritrean President Afwerki greeted with a hug
new reformist Prime Minister of Ethiopia. The crowd danced and
sung in the honor of the two leaders and in the streets of the capital
the flags of the two countries move.
The visit comes a month after full acceptance, by
of Ahmed, a peace agreement that ended a war
border for two years and tens of thousands of dead.
