Thanks to the new (true) prostheses, Maya will soon be working

The prostheses that allowed him to move up to today had made his father with two tuna cans. Born with a genetic malformation the same of the father, Maya did not develop the lower limbs in fact she grew up without legs.

Today, thanks to the intervention of a Specialized Center in Istanbul who offered to help the Syrian 8 years old, having learned his story through images published on social networks, Maya learns to walk and two new prostheses will allow him to do so.

Since birth, Maya has known nothing but the explosions, air raids and desperation of the Syrian people besieged by a seven-year-long conflict. The same who forced Maya and her family to leave their city, Aleppo, after the terrible siege that almost destroyed it.

Once in a refugee camp of Idlib his father decided to manufacture two prostheses to allow him to move between the tents and protect his skin from dust and soil. Thanks to the handmade prostheses, Maya had the opportunity to get out of her tents, to live with the other children of the camp and to attend school clbades.

"Maya goes well and learns to walk" ad Al Jazeera Dr. Mehmet Zeki Culcu, specialist who follows her. It will take several months before the baby can take a few steps alone, but it will happen. And for Maya it will be a new beginning.

The prostheses made by the father were fundamental to guarantee a happy ending to this story. As Dr. Culcu explained, thanks to these Mayans, she's used to walking instead of crawling as she was forced to do so in the early years of her life. "Without help, this father made suffer suffering and God came to his aid" concluded Culcu

It is estimated that there are more than four hundred thousand victims of the Syrian conflict. In the country, where the number of wounded is endless, it is increasingly difficult for civilians to have access to medical care and health care. More than half of the population that existed before the outbreak of the war (about 12 million people) has fled or is displaced today. More than three million refugees are received in Turkey
