Four mountaineers, including one Italian and two French, died in the French Alps in three separate incidents. The Italian victim is a 40-year-old Milanese who fell after reaching a height of 3,000 meters in the Coolidge corridor leading to Mount Pelvoux, in the Ecrins mbadif.

Two French women aged 48 and 54 died while climbing a mountain guide at the Breche de la Meije, a mountain pbad, also in the Ecrins mbadif. The guide, 32, survived

In another incident on Mont Blanc a fourth mountaineer died and no details of the incident is known
