AGCOM fine TIM for optical fiber

Good for TIM of theAGCOM, which, as stated in resolution 480/18 / CONS, has been fined € 232,000 by the Authority for violating the law on transparency with users.

It appeared that the reduction was not applied immediately, but only "then, with a refund on the invoices that would have been issued the 8th, 10th and 12th months from the activation of the offer".

Following investigations, theAGCOM came to the conclusion that TIM he did not implement the measures "necessary so that users can easily arrange, before the conclusion of the contract, a clear and timely indication of the monthly cost of the promotional offer, with immediate proof of the terms and conditions of application of the envisaged reductions in case of online activation of the service, information necessary to ensure the formation of the consent of the user in a free and informed way".

TIM, for its part, emphasized that before the conclusion of thepurchase via the web the user has a screen containing all the necessary information about the offer.

Despite this, theAGCOM decided to amend the operator for 232 thousand euros because of a driving "non-compliant with industry regulations"as this constitutes a violation of"general principles of fairness and good faith".
