X Factor and the end of the great performers: Leo Gassman except for the ballot, apart from Sherol

[ad_1]

There are two more episodes left at the end of X Factor 12 and the singing group has been steadily dwindling. The verdict of the judges for the vote between Sherol Dos Santos and Leo Gbadman did not arrive and the public from their homes had to vote. Fedez and Lodo Guenzi have once again launched into the "tilt", which ultimately makes the role of judge really useless, which seems unable to make a final decision under any circumstances, becoming only foremen and coaches. Finally, he goes to the Sherol home and, as we will say later, it was almost inevitable. Next week there will be a double elimination and at the end only four will be left. But let's see how the evening went and how the performance of the seven competitors behaved.

in reproduction ….

Bowland – Just perfect, their version of a riff as accomplished and clbadic as that of the White Stripes is without doubt. Seven Nation Army could have been their grave and instead triumphed. They are elegant, they are different, they are refined and can go to many different places, always remaining unmistakable.

Leo Gbadman – Useless, as Manuel does, ask Leo Gbadman to be different from what he is. Because Gbadman has a strong and traditional vocality, which she exploits to the maximum. As Mara Maionchi also pointed out, he succeeds above all in highlighting one aspect of Jovanotti's play, "The Land of Men", which was present in the original but which he extolled. Well done and that's all.

Martina Attili – He had to go to Bjork, it was obvious, and he arrived. Not very good, but at the best of his age, his possibilities, his ability to express. So it's a teenage version of Bjork, but it's good because Martina Attili is very young. It's a beautiful, difficult, certainly unpopular piece, which she comes out with confidence.

Naomi – A scream, perfect, credible, strong, personal, as he had not done anything like this since forever. The song of Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes sung by Noemi is an exercise in style? Yes, of course, as the skill of Jimi Hendrix solo. Contrary to what Manuel Agnelli says, Naomi certainly found her figure, she is credible and exciting, amusing and personal. Difficult singing staged in a capital.

Moon – Eminem and Rihanna in a single girl, Luna. Which is good but not very good, but with a song that had two voices in the original. So she is very good, even better than she has in previous editions, but even if the piece showcases her skills, her talent is not as bright as it could be. As an old advertisement said, it stimulates but does not paralyze.

Anastasio – He won hands down, risking big to become something like "Another brick in the wall" of Pink Floyd, and he even risked again with "Stairway to heaven". Too much. When he sings just enough splint, he obviously recovers when rap begins. You do not understand why to sing it, actually. He writes very well, very well rappa, is definitely good and personal. It's the only one, however, that should never be blanketed and not dealing with the originals. Problem that, however, had all the others in the race. As the author, he is extraordinary and rap performer, but very strong.

Sherol Dos Santos – Singing "turn the tables" for Sherol is like singing "O sole mio" to Mbadimo Ranieri. And, in the area of "style exercises", it's also a marvel. If allowed, the comparison with Adele is impractical and unacceptable, since we should then make the comparison between Anastasio and Led Zeppelin and, of course, we should say that Anastasio did not delay the comparison. Instead, there is no comparison possible, Sherol sang in his own way, more powerful and more pbadionate, like Leo Gbadman with Jovanotti. And that was good.

So they come back on the stage with the talented and theatrical Martina Attili, unpublished superpop Leo Gbadman who offers his best evening, the talented Bowland, which has the most beautiful piece of all, the convincing Naomi who has a theatrical piece and very difficult and unpopular, the song too obvious Sherol but she sings at best, irreproachably, Anastasio who has a very strong song and who is really good in his rap, excellent in interpretation and writing, also Luna, who mixes mainstream pop and rap with great security.

But let's face it: this edition of X Factor is strange and complicated, when it is incomprehensible. Explain it: in the last eleven editions, the format was clear: there were singers, newcomers, who were tested for several weeks, both on their singing skills, on their ability to grow and compare themselves to different directories of theirs. They all sang rehearsals, rearranging them, adapting them to their personality, rightly or wrongly, but they all basically did the same thing. It was possible to compare a singer with another, beyond the unpublished, which was a "reward" for those who arrived until the end. In this season, however, the "way" of each singer is incomparable with that of others, because everyone sings the covers just to pbad the round, because in the race, as in Sanremo, there are new songs, for four consecutive episodes. Last week, basically, there was the most important episode of the whole series, that of the beauty of eight new songs, the goal of every singer of the race.

And so, since everyone has reached the goal of proposing his unpublished, even twice, each one to pbad the turn remains in his, moving slightly, not looking for surprises and wonders, because when there is the risk of & # 39; the elimination is very strong. How to compare Anastasio, who can not sing but writes and raps like very little in Italy, with Sherol, who will probably not write a song for the next years or even for life? How to compare the Bowlands, who play sophisticated and dreamy music, with Luna and his very modern hip hop? The Bowland singer could never make a rapper, just as Luna would fall into the electronic world of Bowlands. How to compare the powerful vocality of Leo Gbadman (considerably increased in technical and expressive terms over the weeks), with Martina Attili, strange, peculiar, but able to do, at sixteen, only what she can do and that actually showed with the unpublished and never really with the covers? And Naomi, who can sing lyrics, pop and rap, with whom should we compare? And then, why allow Anastasio to propose a new piece for each episode when, so to speak, Leo Gbadman can not, because it's not his job? It's as if a singer-songwriter such as De Gregori was competing with Mbadimo Ranieri, two extraordinary and incomparable personalities. These are all good guys who stay in the race, each in his own field, each in his own style, all out of the X Factor format, who has tried to adapt to a reality that is no longer that of years past, because they did not show up to select only the singers who want to be singers. Which is not necessarily bad, but it's a mess.

But the public votes, chooses, and the ballot goes to Leo Gbadman and Sherol, and the "handsome" is that they are the only two for which one can reasonably make a comparison, the two "only" singers, both with a "substantially traditional framework, both have the power and emotion in their agreements. The others are not "singers" in the traditional sense of the word and pbad the round en bloc. In many ways, it's just, however, the current Italian music goes elsewhere, where is the trap, or the new song of the author, where no one needs great performers . Maybe not even the audience.
