ELECTRICITY IS IN CHANGE – The first deliveries of the BMW 330e, the variant of the new BMW 3 Series with the plug-in hybrid engine, which, unlike "normal" hybrids, is equipped with rechargeable batteries, even via the power socket (and not only in case of slowdown): in the home network, the "full" takes four hours . The 330e lithium-ion batteries, located under the back seat, can store 12 kWh of energy and power an electric motor, which develops 68 hp but can reach 109 hp when you ask the car to maximum performance, for example during a short uphill pbad. The main engine of the car remains the four-cylinder turbo gasoline 2.0 liters, identical to that of the BMW 320i: it develops 184 hp and connects to the wheels through the eight-speed automatic transmission: it's the latter which electric motor.

60 KM AT ZERO EMISSIONS – The hybrid engine of the BMW 330e develops a total power of 252 hp, which rises to 293 hp for a few seconds when you "tighten" the electric motor. This driving mode is called XtraBoost and allows you to achieve maximum performance, from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.0 seconds, once at the level of a sports car. The distances declared with one liter of petrol can reach 58.8 km / l, but this figure also takes into account the 60 km pbadable by electric motor with charged batteries: aautonomy declared double compared to the previous 330th. The driver can choose the Sport (enhanced performance), Hybrid (fuel economy) or Electric driving modes that only run the electric motor until the batteries are discharged. In this case, it is possible to reach 140 km / h.
