But let's come to the cold heart. It is a power unit capable of delivering a continuous power of 3.5 kW which also reaches a peak of 4 kW. A propeller that can develop a torque of 200 n / m. The battery is lithium ion, it means that it has no memory effect and can be recharged even in successive stages, without problem. For a full charge, it takes 4 hours with a voltage of 220 volts. And once the autonomy of the electric Vespa fully recharged, it allows you to travel 100 km. L & # 39; wear? No problem Piaggio guarantees that the battery retains excellent efficiency up to a thousand complete refills. This means that you can travel 50,000 km to 70,000 km, which is more or less ten years of use by calculating the average duration of a city trip. But that's a lot, a lot, if we think we're talking about a little metropolitan scooter.
But let's see the beginning now. Once the key is positioned at the beginning, you must select with your right thumb the rhythm you prefer, power or echo. The writing appears on the dashboard by pressing the button under the right thumb. To select the chosen option, hold down the same button for a few seconds. Once selected, the word start appears on the dashboard. Then just turn the throttle. With the power, you can go at maximum speed, with echo, a limiter of 30 km / h starts to work. No difference, however, with respect to the idea. There is also a third option, that of reversing. Once selected, the scooter moves back at very low speed and a buzzer is automatically activated, signaling the maneuver acoustically.
Electric wasp it is also equipped with Kers for energy recovery, which comes into service in deceleration or downhill, and allows to increase the battery charge.
The color of the electric Vespa it is metallic gray but you can have custom finishes of different colors. The price? 6 390 euros but beware: a good part of the expenses is recovered with the savings of use and maintenance.
And the future? In Piaggio, they are already considering the launch of version X, which will have a range of 200 km. It will arrive in 2019 and will have a generator fueled with gasoline.
