A couple, of Iranian origin, was arrested on Saturday in Belgium for having prepared an attack against Villepinte in France . According to the investigators, the two, both in their thirties, wanted to strike a rally of the opposition group "Mujahideen of the Iranian people". During the raids, the police found 500 grams of explosive TATP and a detonator in their car.
According to local media reports, the two Belgian nationals reside in Wilrijk, a town near Antwerp.
On Saturday, the couple was intercepted in the car by Brussels police in a district of the capital and was arrested after the discovery of the explosive.
