Goodbye Billy. It is not an exaggeration to say that the whole city of Vietri is in mourning for the disappearance of this dog adopted for years by the citizens. Billy, in fact, was known and had entered everyone's heart because every day he went to his master's grave, the butcher Vincenzo Caputo.

Billy often had a habit of going there by busThe drivers knew him, so they got up and when they got to the cemetery they opened their doors. The dog came down, crossed the door and squatted on that grave. After visiting the owner he went back to the city, went around the shopsas to greet all traders. It was often also to the mails even in the church, but no one dared to chase him.

It sounds like an invented story, movie or cartoon, but it's the pure truth. The story of Billy has also been told on television. A very intelligent dog, very gentle, who liked to be caressed especially by children.

Now that he's gone, on the night of November 25 to 26, the citizens of Vietri Sul Mare have decided to dedicate a commemorative plaque. It will be reached Francesco Raimondi, a ceramist from the Amalfi Coast, one of the tradesmen Billy liked to greet.

In this way, the memory of Billy, a dog just extraordinary.
