BioUpper selects 10 innovative projects – Medicine

These are some of the 15 projects presented by young researchers and start-ups, candidates for the BioUpper call for proposals, the Novartis program, the Cariplo Foundation and IBM, which supports young talents working in the sciences of life. The projects presented during the call dedicated to start-ups were 158; of these, only 15 were admitted to the intermediate phase and will be evaluated by a panel of 12 experts. The "Selection Day" started this morning at the premises of Cariplo Factory in Milan: ten of the fifteen start-ups presented will be officially admitted to the acceleration phase – which will last from September to November – arriving in the final phase in which the three winning start-ups will be selected. They will each receive a prize of 180,000 euros for the development of the business plan.

The selection of BioUpper celebrates the third edition; Thanks to the meeting between start-ups, incubators and investors, BioUpper has allowed 70% of the finalist projects to raise more than 2 million euros in the last two editions.
