An unprecedented heat wave and a few fires have made California a torrid state. Several cities have reached the maximum in terms of temperature. In Santa Ana, the thermometer reached 45.5 degrees, exceeding the 1917 record of 44.4 degrees. In Los Angeles, the record of 43.9 degrees was reached, surpbading the previous historical high of 42.8 degrees in 1939. In Riverside the temperature reached 47.7 degrees, equaling the previous record of 1925. California authorities recommend special attention for the elderly, children and the sick.
