The man, Gianluca Ghiglia, forty-one years old, fallen into the cave, was released on a stretcher, thanks to a system of ropes that allowed him to overcome the rock jump of 80 meters. More than 100 rescue and mountain speleology technicians participated in rescue operations, including 80 speleologists from different regions of Italy and 20 mountaineers. Ghiglia, president of the local speleological group and volunteer mountain rescue, was completely immobilized: the fall, due to rope problems, had indeed caused several traumas and fracture of a scapula.
