Extensive fire near Agordo, burning wood and smoke in the valley – Veneto

A factory that falls on the high voltage line, sparks that trigger a fire that, pushed by the strong wind of Foehn, quickly spreads over a kilometer, to cover the entire slope of the mountain. This is one of the badumptions considered likely for the fire that has developed since the afternoon in the valley of San Lucano, in the territory of the municipality of Cencenighe Agordino (Belluno). Three homes identified by firefighters rushed to the scene with about forty units. Very difficult operations, due to strong wind and smoke, that the air pushed all over the Cordevole Valley, up to Agordo and visible until Belluno. A cloud that at sunset is orange and gold, which increases the concerns of the population.

The Civil Defense will send two Canadair tomorrow to help stop the fires, as the wind pushes up the mountain, saving the centers at the bottom of the valley. The fears of the operators also concern two boys stranded at about 1,650 meters altitude in the valley, in the Besausega cbad. In telephone contact with the rescuers, they were led into a rocky area away from the flames; Alpine rescue and firefighters badess the possibilities of approaching on foot.

The fall of a plant on the high voltage cables in the region of Agordo resulted in an interruption of electricity of a few minutes.
