Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was arrested as part of the mbadive Malaysian Investment Fund scandal 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), created in 2009 by Najib and centrally major cases of fraud, recycling and corruption. Najib, 65, was the subject of an investigation a few months ago and the Malaysian authorities had prevented him from leaving the country.
