Gasoline cars pollute like diesel and gasoline ⋆ The new ecology

Gasoline cars produce the same air pollution as gasoline cars and a little less than diesels that meet new limits, according to Transport & Environment

gas

Cars have gas produce the same air pollution of gasoline cars and a little less than diesels which respect the new limits verified in real conditions. This is stated in a new report from Ong Transport & Environment. T & E therefore asks tax fossil gas with aliquots similar to those applied to diesel and gasoline.

In the EU, on average, 76% less gasoline than diesel is taxed. In countries where sales of CNG and LNG vehicles are high, fossil fuel has even lower tax rates. Italy, which consumes 60% of the methane used in European transport and sells 68% of the methane-fueled cars, receives an excise duty on gasoline equal to only 0.5% of that applied to diesel. With fair taxation, the purchase of LNG trucks would not present any benefit. In fact, LNG can increase nitrogen oxides (NOx) in trucks, depending on the type of engine, and generate a number of particulate emissions significantly higher than diesel.
