It's a vacation time for many, but not for all. 8.3 million Italians will not leave for the summer holidays, that is to say just below 1 Italian in 5 . And the main reason is because you do not have the money. This is revealed by an investigation commissioned by Easy.it at the research institute mUp Research and conducted with the help of Norstat
The first reason we do not start is of economic nature: well 64% of those who give up holidays, ie 5.3 million people, simply declared that they could not afford it . Families of 3 or 4 members, but also young people aged 25 to 34, must leave their holidays for economic reasons. Of those who in this age group do not start, nearly 7 out of 10 do so for economic reasons.
For the elderly an average budget of 1500 euros, but 52% will spend less
Italians who leave will spend 10.6 days on vacation and it is true that the average budget per capita allocated to holidays is equal to € 1,580, 52% of holidaymakers will not spend more than € 1,000. This value, however, varies considerably depending on the age of the traveler. If the under 25s are the ones who spend less, on average 785 €, will be the adults between 35 and 54 years and more than 55 years to allocate more economic resources to the holidays, with an average cost per inhabitant of respectively 1 700 € and 1,913 euros.
Different budgets and, of course, also related to the duration of the holidays, which should be on average short for young people under 35, of which about 50% will travel less than 7 days, while more adults will stay more long term, more than one week for 62% of people between 35 and 54 years old and 69% of over 55s.
