Tragedy in a Grand Hotel in Sperlonga, a tourist resort in the province of Latina. A 13 year old girl from Frosinone, on vacation with her parents, died after being sucked by a pool hatch. The girl was already in serious condition when she was rescued immediately after the incident Wednesday afternoon. Hospitalized, she died in the night. Carabinieri investigates the case.
The pool area has been seized. As restored, around 5 pm on Wednesday, the 13-year-old dived to take a bath when he was sucked by a large opening of about 20 cm located at the bottom of the pool.
On seeing her in trouble, some people helped her by getting her out of the water. The girl, who had regained consciousness after being revived by a doctor, died at night in the hospital.
The Carabineers at Sperlonga Station and the Terracina Company are investigating the case. An autopsy will be performed on the body of the girl to establish the exact causes of death and to find out if the 13-year-old was caught by a disease
