Malaysia: Former Prime Minister Razak indicted – Asia

(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 4 – Former Prime Minister of Malaysia
Najib Razak, defeated in the elections of May 9, is
has been charged with three counts of breach of trust
in the context of the investigation into the undue and undue
money laundering related to the sovereign fund 1MDB, founded
of the same Razak and of which 4.5 billion are gone
dollars since 2009. Each expense includes one sentence
maximum of 20 years imprisonment.
The judge ordered a deposit of 250 thousand dollars. the
prosecutor had asked for a surety of one million
dollars. Razak will have to return both pbadports
diplomats. The former prime minister pleaded not guilty
all the indictments and asked the process, to check
his character alien to the facts, at the hearing of the High Court
Kuala Lumpur.
