In the second quarter of 2018, Netflix acquired 5.2 million new users, about one million less than predicted by the company and badysts. New report ends a two-year, uninterrupted series of quarterly results much better than expected
The consequence was a decline in the Netflix stock market
Between April and June 2018, new subscribers 670,000 United States and 4.47 million in the rest of the world. Analysts expected 1.23 million new members in the United States and 5.11 million in the rest of the world
Forecasts for the current quarter were therefore proportional to the new trend: the company expects to acquire 5 million new users, with a slower growth rate than last year.
Netflix also posted $ 3.91 billion in revenue in the second quarter, just shy of the $ 3.14 billion expected.
As of June 30, however, Netflix has 130.1 million subscribers, an increase of 25% over last year.
