06.06: Pirelli ha comunicato le mescole che saranno a disposizione di team e piloti in questa due giorni di test. Per quanto riguarda la gamma 2018 saranno presenti le mescole Hard, Medium, Soft, Supersoft, Ultrasoft, Hypersoft. In relazione al 2019, invece, come sappiamo nella prossima stagione ci sarà una semplificazione a livello estetico, con le gomme del weekend che saranno sempre contraddistinte dai nomi Supersoft, Soft e Medium indipendentemente dall’effettiva mescola utilizzata. Per questo, le mescole 2019 a disposizione per questi test saranno numerate dall’1 al 5, partendo dalla più dura alla più morbida. Per quanto riguarda la mescola 4, ne sarà presente una seconda versione di “backup”.

05.56: Ci sarà poi l’esordio di Kimi Raikkonen con la nuova vettura. Il finlandese, dopo aver lasciato Maranello, è pronto per questa nuova avventura e vedremo come saprà calarsi nella parte.
05.49: La macchina di Grove vedrà avvicendarsi i due nuovi piloti: George Russell, campione del mondo della F2, e Robert Kubica, tornato ad essere pilota titolare a 8 anni di distanza dall’ultima volta dopo il brutto incidente nel rally ad Andora.
05.46: In Renault, nonostante il terrificante crash di domenica gara, Nico Hulkenberg si metterà a lavoro per accumulare giri ed informazioni. In McLaren sarà l’esordiente Lando Norris a dare il via alle danze. Grande curiosità per la Williams e l’Alfa Romeo Sauber.
05.43: La Mercedes si affiderà in questo day-1 al finlandese Valtteri Bottas, reduce da un’annata negativa nella quale la vittoria, anche per un pizzico di sfortuna, non è arrivata. In Ferrari, prima di vedere Charles Leclerc vestito di Rosso, sarà Sebastian Vettel a portare per primo in pista la monoposto del Cavallino Rampante mentre Max Verstappen sarà al volante della Red Bull.
05.38: Sul tracciato di Yas Marina i team si ritroveranno per provare le gomme Pirelli 2019 e, nello stesso tempo, consentire ai piloti di girare con alcuni componenti funzionali alle vetture dell’anno prossimo.
