Two meetings were held at the Department of Economic Development earlier this week in the presence of the Minister, Luigi Di Maio, to discuss the situation of broadband in our country.

At the first meeting, representatives of the GETTINGof Infratel and the Conference of Regions and Provinces have realized the benefits of the implementation status of the PUL Plan to cover areas of market failure, also known as white areas. "The dialogue with the regions made it possible to check the progress of the work of the working group created by the MSE, in application of the decision of the Ultrabroadband Committee (COBUL) chaired by Minister Luigi Di Maio, aimed at to help the regions to report on the work of the BUL project"reads a brief note branched by the ministry.

Very interesting also the second meeting held by the Infratel Address and Monitoring Committee, who discussed the status of work on the implementation of the BUL plan during the two-year period 2018-2020. "In particular, with regard to the intervention on the white areas, it appeared that the infrastructure of the BUL was completed in 138 municipalities with direct intervention, but that no TLC operator n 39 had activated the provision of services to users. At the end of the meeting, it was hoped that operators would show an interest in providing services to users residing in the 138 indicated municipalities, thus offering citizens and businesses the highest level of connectivity possible."is the harsh denunciation that has emerged from the table, with a desire for operators.

"Regarding the SINFI and Wifi.Italia.it projects, the aspect relating to the timing of the launch of the reinforcement actions on the territory was finally treated thanks to the funds made available by the government for the realization of these important projects ( 5 million for Sinfi and a total of 53 million for Wi-Fi Italy)"concludes the note.
