(ANSA) – ISTANBUL, JULY 1 – The LGBT community in Istanbul challenges
the ban and announcement in a tweet that this afternoon will parade to
Taksim Square for gay pride. The organizers' report
that the governor has banned the "illegal" march for the
fourth consecutive year and that the announcement violates their freedom to
together.
From 2015, the governor cites security reasons for
explain the ban, but previously the Turkish authorities have
allowed the gay pride parades to be held for a
decade since 2003. At the 2014 event, they participated
100 thousand people. Although homobaduality is not illegal
Turkey, LGBT people (bad, gay, bibadual and
Transgender) are, however, victims of discrimination and
hate.
