(ANSA) – JOHANNESBURG, JULY 22 – Eleven people were
killed in South Africa when foreigners opened fire
last night on a minibus carrying members of
an badociation of taxi drivers, as announced
the police. Four others were injured.
The victims participated in the funeral of a colleague and
they were coming home when the ambush occurred. The attack is
took place between the towns of Colenso and Weenen in the province of
KwaZulu-Natal. The victims came from the province of Gauteng.
Police investigate the reasons for the attack.
Tensions between different groups of taxi drivers are common

paths. Last May, the media reported a series
episodes of violence related to rivalries between drivers of
minibuses in Cape Town that killed 10 people.
