A clandestine currency where exquisite 50 euro banknotes were produced was discovered in a rural house among the olive groves of the province of Taranto by the financiers of the Naples Nucleo di Polizia Economico Finanziaria and the Unity Special of the Rome Police.

Three forged bells of 43, 58 and 31 years were arrested. The finance guard surprised them while they were at work: they tried to escape but they were hit and stranded. They had already printed 8 million fake euros, ready for sale.

In the clandestine laboratory, particularly sophisticated machines have been found, such as offset printing machines, which are particularly large and very efficient. To locate the laboratory, aircraft were also used by the Air Defense Group of the Financial Guard of Taranto.

The clandestine laboratory was housed in a single-family house in the olive groves of the city of Maruggio (Taranto), belonging to children of those arrested, in a hard-to-reach country area. To place the printing house, the building, originally used as a holiday home, has undergone structural changes. The large printing machines came from the Neapolitan hinterland and heavy vehicles were used to transport them.

The best prints made by the air force group of the Tarente Financial Guard kept the distance under control. the house, from the earliest stages of construction. The first checks made on the banknotes allowed us to check the valuable work, able to easily deceive anyone. The three arrested are accused of criminal badociation and falsification of banknotes. Investigations were coordinated by investigators from the Naples North office.
