Today, Wednesday 4 July: the breakdown concerns train 2305 of the S5 Varese-Treviglio line, shortly after Legnano, but the problems also affect the commuters of Novarese on the Domodossola-Milan and Novara-Milan lines. The biggest drawback is on the line connecting Lake Maggiore to the Lombard capital, where, according to Trenord, delays of up to 90 minutes are possible, variations and cancellations due to a failure of the Rfi power line between the Legnano stations Parabiago and the presence of unauthorized persons on the tracks
According to some travelers, on suburban Facebook groups, the last car of train 23015 was struck by a cable from the airline, which would have caused smoke and sparks. For this reason, some frightened travelers would get off the train and continue on foot, further blocking the lines. In addition to the broken train, there are several stationary trains on the tracks, which accumulate delays of more than one hour.
RFI technicians intervened on the spot to solve the fault and move the broken train, in addition to the order forces.
