Nearly three quarters of the 35.5 million going on holiday will remain in Italy (73%) while will cross national borders only 18% of Italians . The average budget per capita is 1580 euros, but 52% of holidaymakers will not spend more than one thousand euros

The survey also reports a significant increase of insurance policies connected to the trip . During the first five months of 2018 claims increased by 30.4% over the same period of the previous year.
