Bring your child to the movies to give them a few hours of entertainment with a film featuring a small, sweet and yellow monster, but you find yourself in a dead end with the baby in your arms, terrified and in tears. It sounds absurd, but that's exactly what happened in the last few hours in a movie theater in Montreal, Canada, where a trivial projection error cost the young audience Detective Pikachu.
This was seen by the reporter Ryan George of ScreenRant, explaining that he understood that something was already wrong with the selection of trailers presented before the show: Annabelle 3, joker and Chucky. Titles decidedly unsuited to the target of a film dedicated to Pokémon.
But the worst was yet to come. Because we quickly understood that instead of the projection of Detective Pikachu, the public was actually – mistakenly – La Llorona – The tears of evil, the horror focused on a supernatural entity of Mexican folklore, which kidnapped children.
It took a few minutes before the movie stopped. A lapse of time however enough to show the spectators the disturbing opening scene and make them come out in tears from the room; waiting to be directed to where the carefree title for which they had paid the bill was finally screened. A movie that they will certainly not forget so easily!
