Street Fighter 5 has finally seen the reveal of its fifth and final DLC character. Season 5 will end with an all-new fighter, the mighty puncher Luke, slated for release in November.

The community has shared their thoughts on the new fighter’s appearance and fighting style over the past few days, and none other than fighting game legend Daigo Umehara has taken to one of his recent streams to say viewers what they think of the newcomer.

“What did I think of Luke? So, to be honest …” begins Daigo (thanks to English translations from FGC Translated). “He looks like a character from Street Fighter 5.”

Umehara goes on to say that the new warrior doesn’t look like he has much to do with him visually. Daigo describes Luke as “unremarkable” and says he looks like a stronger Cody – although he’s not sure if Luke will be strong in terms of level.

While Daigo was a bit disappointed with Luke’s debut, he thinks this character could be a sign of things to come.

“But it’s a message from Capcom that Street Fighter 6 is coming,” says Daigo. “So that made me happy.”

Luke’s reveal really feels like Capcom is giving us a sign that another entry in the Street Fighter series is coming. As the Summer Update aired, Street Fighter 5 director Takayuki Nakayama said Luke “will give us a glimpse into the future.” is equipped with.
