A prominent member of the US judo team and Olympic hopeful, Jack Hatton, died just four days after his 24th birthday, the sporting organization announced Wednesday.
"It's with an extremely heavy heart that USA Judo announces the unexpected passing of Jack Hatton, a member of the USA Judo National Team," said the team in a statement posted on Facebook.
Hatton has won several medals in competitions around the world, practicing judo, a form of modern martial arts.
