MEDFORD, Oregon – Jackson County Public Health reported three more deaths attributed to the coronavirus on Friday, bringing the county’s death toll to 41.
According to the agency, a 94-year-old woman tested positive on November 9 and died on December 3 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. She had underlying health issues.
Another 94-year-old woman tested positive on November 10, passing away on December 1 at her home. She also had underlying conditions.
A 77-year-old man tested positive on November 11 and died on December 2 in Asante Rogue Regional. He had underlying conditions.
Jackson County’s ongoing reports of outbreaks at local long-term care facilities have counted one additional death at Avamere Three Fountains. The largest outbreaks at Three Fountains, Rogue Valley’s Avamaere Health Services and Table Rock Memory Care have resulted in 24 deaths since the first cases emerged in early October.
The agency also reported an unusually high number of 172 new cases of the virus in Jackson County on Friday, but admitted issues with the Oregon Health Authority’s electronic database had impacted the county’s capacity.
