Jaguars take the green dot off Myles Jack

One of the few bright spots in Jacksonville’s defense is linebacker Myles Jack. And he had been given the green dot on his helmet, which means he hears the play call from the sideline and passes it on to the squad.

On Sunday, the Jaguars removed the green dot from Jack’s helmet.

“We evaluated that because Myles is playing three positions,” coach Urban Meyer told reporters after the loss to Tennessee. “You know, in the three [alignments] – base, nickel, centime. We just did some research, he plays better when he doesn’t have to make the call.

Meyer said playcall responsibilities fall instead on linebacker Damien Wilson and safety Rayshawn Jenkins. Meyer was asked if having two different players with this responsibility created confusion on Sunday.

“I don’t think so,” Meyer said. “I think that’s a question I’m going to ask.”

Frankly, there are much more pressing questions to ask now that the Jaguars have lost 20 straight games.
