Janene Hoskovec, Woman Caught Coughing On Shoppers At SAP Licensed Nebraska Grocery Store

A woman without a mask who was recorded deliberately coughing on a mother and child at a Nebraska grocery store has been fired from her job.

A clip of the incident involving the woman, identified as Janene Hoskovec, 54, in a Super Saver in Lincoln went viral after it was posted on Reddit on September 3.

During the clip, titled “Anti-Mask Karen Coughing Deliberately on Me at the South 27th Super Saver,” Hoskovec is seen coughing on the woman, who is recording it, before telling other buyers that they are “such sheep “and she does not. need to wear a mask because: “I’m not sick and neither are you.”

Hoskovec then smiles and claims it’s her allergies that make her cough.

The City of Lincoln has a mask mandate requiring all people over the age of two to cover their faces indoors, even if they are vaccinated.

The clip was then posted to Twitter, where it has since been viewed over 4 million times.

After the footage went viral, German software company SAP said it would investigate because it was reported that the woman in the footage was one of its employees.

“The health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we live and work is of utmost concern to us,” the company tweeted. “We take the incident of an SAP employee very seriously and are investigating the situation.”

On Wednesday, the company added: “We have reviewed the incident and can confirm that the person in question is no longer with SAP.”

According to Hoskovec’s LinkedIn page, she worked at Tempe in the Arizona branch of SAP.

The woman who first posted the clip to Reddit also described how Hoskovec continued to follow her around the store after the initial confrontation.

“I then tried to continue shopping, but this lady followed me into the store. I told her she had to keep her distance and her coughing on me was an assault,” she said. .

“She laughed and kept saying, ‘Look at you, it’s so cute how scared you are!’ At that point, I was absolutely livid, doing my best to hold out in front of my child. I didn’t finish shopping, instead I went to the self-checkout to pay for my stuff. Then I went to the self-service checkout. , she followed me to use the car checkout right next to mine, ”she added.

A man who says he is the child’s father also tweeted that Hoskovec “started it all.”
