Maryland man accused of killing his brother and two women last week reportedly targeted his brother, a pharmacist, because he believed he was part of a government plot that “poisoned” people by administering vaccines against COVID-19, prosecutors said.
Prosecution documents filed with Maryland District Court for Howard County, 46, say Jeffrey Burnham would have said to his mother, Evelyne Burnham, that he planned to address his concerns about the vaccine with his brother, 58 Brian Robinette.
“He wanted to confront Brian about the government that is poisoning people with COVID vaccines,” his mother told police. “He said over and over ‘Brian knows something!'”
As previously reported by Law & Crime, Burnham allegedly killed his brother and sister-in-law, Kelly sue robinette, 57, as well as her 83-year-old mother’s childhood friend Rebecca reynolds.
Evelyn called the Cumberland Police Department on September 29 to report that her son Jeffrey had made some bizarre claims that the FBI was “after” the two. She told the police that she was worried “about her mental health.”
Agents from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland were dispatched to a house in the 500 block of Fourth Street in the town of Cumberland at 7:20 p.m. on September 29, where they discovered Reynolds was dead, his throat slit and a pillow over his face. . Police reportedly said there were also signs of a violent struggle.
A medical examiner determined her death was a homicide and investigators discovered her vehicle had been stolen.
Evelyn called the police again on September 30 and reportedly told investigators she was still concerned about her son’s condition, especially his ‘Becky’s car’ speech, in reference to Reynolds.

Cumberland Police contacted the Howard County Police Department in connection with the investigation into Reynolds’ death and the latter agency executed a search warrant at a house at 5368 Kerger Road in Ellicott City. A Howard County Police tactical unit entered the house on September 30 and found the Taps dead in their upstairs bedroom. Both appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a 40 caliber firearm.
Police say that after killing Reynolds, Burnham stole his Lincoln and drove it for about two hours to Ellicott City where he murdered his brother and sister-in-law. A gun was recovered from the Robinettes ‘home and Reynolds’ Lincoln was found abandoned a few blocks from the house. Investigators also discovered that Brian Robinette’s 2007 red Corvette had been stolen.
Brian Robinette’s cell phone was found on an exit ramp on Route 100 which led to Interstate 95 North. CCTV footage from an EZ Pass camera showed the Corvette passed through the Baltimore harbor tunnel around 8:30 a.m. on September 30.
According to prosecution documents, an unidentified informant contacted state police on the afternoon of September 30 and told them Burnham had returned to Cumberland in his brother’s car. The tipster said Burnham asked him for gas before telling him “he would see it on TV”.
“Burnham was seen around 9 a.m. on the side of a road in Davis, WV, with the 2007 red Corvette he stole from his brother’s home after the murder,” the county police department said. from Howard in a statement Friday morning. “West Virginia State Police took him into custody without incident and located a gun inside the vehicle. It is not known why Burnham withdrew from the causeway.
Burnham faces two counts of first degree murder, two counts of second degree murder and the illegal taking of a motor vehicle.
Burnham was extradited to Maryland on Tuesday and is being held in Allegany County without bail. Defense attorneys Michael Allan Stankan and Jessica lynne colwell, who are listed on the roll as representing Burnham, did not immediately respond to Law & Crime emails.
