When asked about the timing, Biden stated that he would publish his medical record "at my next physical exam" and "before the first vote".
A Biden spokesman confirmed to CNN that this meant before the Iowa caucuses in February 2020.
Biden was already committed to making his medical record public before the general election.
"I want to say that there is no reason for me not to publish my medical record," Biden told reporters on Friday.
Warren is also considering disclosing his medical records before the Iowa caucuses, confirmed Kristen Orthman, spokesman for the Warren campaign, at CNN.
Biden's propensity for gaffes and slippage, which is consistent with his previous campaigns, has been linked to his age by Democratic challengers and other critics.
If he won the White House, Biden would be 78 when he was sworn in 2021 – making him the oldest president at the start of his first term in American history. Trump was the oldest president at the start of his first term in 2017.
After the debate, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker said Castro had "very legitimate concerns about the fact that it may be one of a long and grueling campaign" and said that Castro "had every right to call him back".
"Many people are worried about Joe Biden's ability to carry the ball down the end of the line without fumbling," Booker told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Thursday night.
