President-elect Joe Biden slipped and twisted his ankle while playing with his dog, Major, on Sunday, and his doctor said a CT scan showed he had hair fractures in the “mid-foot” area. Mr. Biden will probably “need a walking boot” for several weeks.

“The initial x-rays showed no obvious fractures, but his clinical examination warranted more detailed imaging,” Mr. Biden’s personal physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement. “The follow-up CT scan confirmed (small) hairline fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and middle wedge bones, which are in the midfoot. He is predicted to likely need a walking boot. for several weeks. ”

Mr. Biden visited Delaware orthopedic specialists in Newark, Delaware on Sunday afternoon, “out of caution.” Mr. Biden arrived around 4 p.m. ET and left around 6:45 p.m., giving the press outside a boost.
