The Mandalorian eventually shared Baby Yoda’s true origin and real name; it was different from what a lot of fans thought. On top of that, the fact that he was born in the same year as Anakin Skywalker came to play a bit more. Basically, Baby Yoda’s experience decades earlier could change the way you think about it Revenge of the Sith, a bit like the new season of The clone wars made. ‘The Mandalorian’ finally revealed Baby Yoda’s real name and backstory

Most of this most recent episode of The Mandalorian was the introduction of Ahsoka Tano in live action form. However, it was expected. Something that was a major bombshell was the fact that audiences learned of The Child’s real name. and its origin story.
After Mando stops Ahsoka from attacking her, since she just thinks he’s there to kill her, she notices Baby Yoda and talks to him. The scene jumps to the two communicating wordlessly, but rather through the Force or through another conversational plane. Ahsoka then tells Din Djarin that the “child” is in fact called Grogu. And Grogu was training to become a Jedi Knight in the same Jedi temple she had trained in during the Clone Wars.
Back in time between Star Wars – Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the series The clone wars took place and showed the years that the Jedi fought in the Civil War between the Republic and the Separatists. Anakin was the ruler of Ahsoka and Obi-Wan and they were generals, while Ahsoka was a commander in said war.
Grogu, Ahsoka tells Din, was trained by a few different masters at the Temple, but it seems he was too young to actually go into the field or become a Padawan outside in the real world. Because even though he’s the same age as Anakin Skywalker, he’s the developing age of a baby or toddler as he ages slowly. It would also mean that Grogu was a youth at the Jedi Temple during Order 66.

If that still doesn’t ring a bell, it means that when Anakin swore allegiance to Darth Sidious after sending Master Windu to the depths of Coruscant, and he was sent to kill all of the Jedi remaining at the Temple, Grogu was the. And in the now infamous Anakin scene in the Temple with the young, Grogu could have been one of those unlucky children.
However, he clearly wasn’t, and as Ahsoka said, someone – Grogu doesn’t know who – saved him and took him away during the Jedi Purge. That’s when his memory fades, and he doesn’t remember much until the beginning of The Mandalorian it seems. Poor Grogu therefore has no memories for decades.
Either way, without the memories of Grogu and with Ahsoka on Mandalore at the time, fans won’t know what happened that night. But the events of Revenge of the Sith are slightly modified, again, with this new information. Because that means that not only was Grogu in the Temple the entire time, but it means that he could have been there during Order 66. Is it a known Jedi who took him away from the Temple? This was obviously not to Yoda or Obi-Wan’s knowledge as they would have taken this into account while they were in Polis Massa while Padmé was giving birth.
Fans still haven’t heard of Baby Yoda’s life for many years
Once again, there is so much that fans don’t know about Grogu’s life. Baby Yoda – as many will continue to call him as it seems fair – doesn’t remember how he came into the Empire’s hands, how he survived the Jedi Purge, or why the Empire didn’t. kill.
Some Reddit fans speculated that Grogu was taken over by the Empire because Palpatine was already preparing his cloning plan at the time. It must have been common knowledge that the Jedi had a powerful student of Master Yoda’s species who was just a baby. This would have been the easiest target for Palpatine when choosing his test subject for the experiment of collecting midi-chlorian cells for his clones.
If so, could Anakin have taken Grogu out of the temple on Palpatine’s order? Anything is possible, and with Baby Yoda’s memory dimmed, it can be filled later. It’s really interesting that Grogu is just this character Ahsoka recognized not because he looks like Master Yoda, but because they studied in the same temple during the Clone Wars. He wasn’t a clone all this time, but he’s just a pawn used by the Empire to create clones. Which, as we have seen, is related to Snoke.
The Mandalorian does a lot of work to connect so many corners of Star wars together, but it works pretty well so far.
