John Romero's SIGIL gets banged late

The demonic forces have kept it upright

SIGIL, the fifth unofficial episode of the 1993 classic Condemn, was hit with a delay. Announced at the end of last year, John Romero (famous designer of ID Software) decided to create a follow-up of the legendary title in a way that he himself could accomplish. Released as a free mod with pay options for the super fans, this release had me excited to return to the depths of hell and revisit these classic enemies. Unfortunately, we will all have to wait a little longer for hell to come back.

In a brief update to his personal blog, Romero writes, "There were some issues in the production that were trying to make everything perfect for fans, I just wanted everyone who bought the Big Box or The Beast Box will know that it now looks like it will be shipped in the month of April. "To make sure no one advances on the mod, the free version has also been postponed.

At least, the concern is more about production than quality. Although I would like to have the mod first, I can understand wanting to give the people who pay the price the chance to live the return of Romero classic FPS design without more spoilers. If this ensures that the end product is worth waiting for, then I totally agree. We do not need another Daikatana on our hands.
