The annual Nevada County Fair is the flagship event of the year, bringing together a cross section of our community to celebrate the end of summer. As the Fair continues this year, we recognize that our community is currently experiencing a dangerous wave of COVID-19 infections, fueled by the highly contagious Delta variant.
To protect the health and safety of our community, the Nevada County Fair, Nevada County Public Health Department, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, and health officials from across the community strongly recommend that everyone attending the fair wear a mask both inside and outside, regardless of vaccination status.
Additionally, we strongly recommend anyone aged 65 and over, those with weakened immune systems, and those with underlying health issues to consider not attending the Fair this year.
Anyone isolated due to a positive COVID-19 test or in quarantine due to exposure to a person who tested positive should not attend the Fair.
The Nevada County Fair has taken extraordinary measures to protect the health of all festival goers. We call on exhibitors, vendors and visitors to do their part to prevent further infections, hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 during this unprecedented time.
