A basketball spokesman Mizzou confirmed that Jontay Porter had torn his right ACL and had to face a long recovery process again.
Alex Schiffer of Kansas City Star was the first to announce the news.
The injury occurred during a training session in Denver, where he was undergoing rehabilitation.
Porter first tore his ACL and MCL in a pre – season pre – season game that forced him to miss his second year.
As a freshman, he was the second teammate of the SEC and was part of the SEC Fresh-Freshman team.
Porter had an average of 10 points and 7 rebounds per game as a rookie. He played in all 33 Tigers games in his first season at MU. Former high school student Father Tolton Highout made his Tigers debut seven times.
Porter did not say whether or not he would return to Mizzou for his junior year or if he would participate in the NBA draft. Before the second ACL tear, most projections indicated that Porter was a first-round choice.
