José Morfin, 88, died on September 13, 2021, peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born in Coyote, New Mexico on December 12, 1932 to Eudoro and Cecelia Salazar Morfin.
He married Domitilia Archuleta on September 22, 1956. They had two children.
Jose retired from Hill Air Force Base after more than 30 years of work there.
He loved spending time in the mountains fishing, hunting, cooking and making the hottest salsa.
Jose is survived by his daughter, Carol; stepdaughter, Roxie; his brothers Sie and Baltazar Morfin; her sisters, Louisa Martinez and Raquel Lujan; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Domitilia; parents, Eudoro and Cecelia Morfin; her sisters, Tillie Jongeward, Lola Salinas and Anita Sanchez; his brothers, Eluid, Cristobal and Urban Morfin; his son, Robert Morfin; and son-in-law, Philip Abeyta.
The funeral will be on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends can visit with family on September 18, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the morgue. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
