CALUMET – June Heinonen, 92, a resident of Calumet passed away peacefully on Friday September 17, 2021 at Gardenview Assisted Living and Memory Care.
She was born on June 23, 1929 in Woodland Location to John and Alma (Niska) Hannula. She attended Calumet high school.
On July 7, 1951, she united with Edward Heinonenin Calumet.
June loved to garden, she and Edward had a beautiful vegetable garden. She also loved to cook and made the best pies in town.
Her pride and joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents John and Alma Hannula, her husband Edward and siblings Carl, Arvella, Erma, Margaret, Evelyn, Paul, Walter and two infant twin sisters.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Calumet.
She is survived by: her children: Betty (Frank) Ucman of Omaha, Nebraska, Edward Heinonen Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; Joyce (Tony) Bausano of Calumet; his grandchildren: Frank III, Samuel (Lisa), John (Kaela), Marc, Christine (Abe), Jason (Fernanda), Bradley (Catherine) and Timothy (Jenny); 13 great-grandchildren; his brother: Wesley “And you” Hanule de Calumet; His brother-in-law: Elwood Heinonen from Hamtramck; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 6 p.m. at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home with Pastor Jared Howard officiating. Friends can call Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 4 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be in Lake View Cemetery.
