Jupiter Moons: Jupiter will be so close to Earth this month, its biggest moons will be visible with just a pair of binoculars

NASA has a message for space lovers this month: Raise your eyes. The largest planet in the solar system, Jupiterwill be clearly visible on June 10th – and to see its bigger moons, you'll only need to take a pair of binoculars.

NASA said the gas giant is at its "biggest and brighter this month" and will be visible all night long. The planet will reach the opposition, the annual event when Jupiter, the Earth and the Sun are arranged in a straight line, with the Earth in the center. So, mark your calendar for Monday, because it will be the best time of the year to see it.

While the world famous for its bright stripes and swirls will be visible to the naked eye, binoculars or a small telescope only enhance its clarity. The devices will also allow people to spot JupiterThe four largest moons, and maybe even a "glimpse" of some of the clouds in bands that surround the planet. Scientists believe that the planet contains 79 combined moons – 53 named and 26 pending official names.

However, for those who want to take a closer look at the planet, NASA's Juno spacecraft is currently orbiting Jupiter and capturing breathtaking images.
