A teenager was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries Wednesday night after being stabbed in an allegedly gang-related brawl in downtown Santa Barbara, police said.
A group of four minors were walking in the vicinity of Anapamu and Bath streets when a second group of minors and young adults approached and a scuffle began, according to Anthony Wagner, a spokesman for the Police Department of Santa Barbara.
A teenager was stabbed and the rest of the people left the area, Wagner said.
The victim walked to De la Vina Street and collapsed, and police and AMR paramedics responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m., Wagner said.
The victim was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and his health was unknown on Thursday, Wagner said.
As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made and the investigation was continuing.
Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the department at 805.897.2465.
